Lamson Farm
Before the
frost is on the pumpkins and the last crop of
hay is in the barn, come out and celebrate the
best of living in Mont Vernon at Lamson Farm
Day.
On Saturday, September 27 at 10 am,
Lamson Farm will be bustling with good
old-fashioned fun.
Kids can try their
hands at apple stacking, blueberry bouncing, and
old-fashioned sack races. They can also make
crafts, take pony rides, and chase after
the Pocket Lady to find out what kind of
treasures she's hidden in her apron.
In
the blacksmiths' shop, folks can watch
blacksmiths pound simple bits of red-hot iron
into a work of art. There will also be farm
exhibits, featuring antique vehicles, craft
displays, live entertainment, and Mont
Vernon's own Mac the Knife will be on hand to
offer his knife-sharpening skills.
For
lunch, folks can indulge in Lamson Farm Day's
famous barbeque with heaping portions of
delicious chicken and all the fixings.
Tickets for the barbeque are on sale at the Mont
Vernon General Store and will be available on a
first come-first served basis during Lamson Farm
Day.
In addition, local Boy Scouts will be
grilling up hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages and
other festival fare.
Lamson Farm Day
will be held rain or shine on Sept. 27 from 10
am to 3 pm. Admission is free. Lamson Farm is
located on Lamson Road, off Route 13, in Mont
Vernon.
The Lamson Farm Commission is
looking for volunteers to help out with the
event, and/or to donate pies or baked beans. For
more information, contact Chip or Dawn Lyon or
Zoe Fimbel
